  3. Photo - Fish

  4. Photo - Other Aquatic Animals (Shrimp, snail, frog, turtle, axolotl, etc.)

Prizes per category (Affiliate gift certificates of your choosing):

  •  1st Place: $25

  • 2nd Place: $20

  • 3rd Place: $15

Bowl Show Participation Guidelines:

Only club members may submit entries. You can become a member of the club on the day of the competition.

In-Person Entries:

  • Members are invited to bring fish and other aquatic animals to the meeting.

  • The club will provide empty 1g critter keepers for display. For larger animals, please bring your own container, water, and appropriate stand.

  • We recommend using Seachem StressGuard during transport (note: it tints the water blue).

  • Decorations are limited to one item per entry (e.g., a hiding cave or a single stem of plant) to reduce stress and keep the focus on the animal.

  • Bring enough water for display and transport, as well as towels for cleaning up spills.

  • Each member can submit up to 3 entries per in-person category, totaling up to 6 entries.

  • Participants in the in-person categories will receive one extra raffle ticket for the member-only raffle at the October meeting.

  • Members may auction their entries after the show but must provide appropriate bags/containers for transportation.

Photo Entries:

  • Photos of any aquatic animals are allowed but must focus on the animal itself (occupying 50% or more of the photo) and not on decor or entire setups.

  • Photos must be taken by the owner, who must still be keeping the animal.

  • Submit up to 2 entries per photo category, for a total of up to 4 entries.

  • Email photos to admin@desertaquaristsociety.org by Friday, November 6th.

  • Must be in attendance to win.
